Morning Headlines of Friday, August 21

Oh no.

Oh no.

I know it’s Friday.

I don’t want to harsh on your buzz or anything, but I did see some leaves turning yellow on a tree outside my home.

Sorry for pointing that out.

I’ll just get back to work now.

Of note this morning is the contrast of bylaw enforcement the two Sun stories give us. Bylaw officers can’t seem to find anyone littering (even while undercover) but they are handing out more tickets to bicyclists and skateboarders for using the sidewalk. It’s good to know I won’t see any garbage and cigarette butts on my way to work today.

from the Edmonton Journal:

No flu pay for Alberta nurses (Maybe doctors will share?)

from the Edmonton Sun:

Plainclothes officers eyeing downtown litter scofflaws

Sidewalk wheelers given verbal warnings (and tickets too).

Shining example (Man charged after laser pointed at Air One.)

from 630 CHED/iNews880:

Taxi’s to add hours and drop $3 charge … some nights (Their misplaced apostrophe, not mine.)

from CTV Edmonton:

City plans to push pedal power (I’m happy to report there are some familiar items in this story.)

from CBC Edmonton:

Customers invest ‘green’ in eco-friendly store (I think you smart, savvy, readers already knew this.)

That’s it, that’s all. Unless you have something I missed. I’m always up for debate, and always up for reading interesting stories.
