October 16 Edmonton Headlines

The LRT certainly packs them in each morning.

Welcome back to fall, Edmonton. At least we’re a little more prepared for winter with that first taste behind us.

A couple of stories are catching my eye this morning. There’s the Food Bank talking about how Bright Nights being cancelled may hurt the winter donations. A school lunch program, which is also very important, is looking at challenges. I think Jamie Oliver proved to me the reasons a nutritious meal at school is a good thing.

Also of note, for transit riders and people who are just fascinated by a transit system that, to me, seems to come up with as many reasons for people to take their car as ride a bus, the City is looking at charging for park and ride stalls.

Also, before you even ask, there will be no links to hoax stories about boys in flying machines.
