Okay, so let’s hop in the delorean (“Roads? Where we’re going, we won’t need roads…”)and head back in time to discuss Sunday. Jeff and I did what we now plan to do every Sunday – we went out for breakfast and hashed out stories for the week ahead.

This week we went to Jojo’s Cafe at La Piazza Dasee.

I know, I know. “But isn’t La Piazza Dasee a flower and home decor shop?”

It is indeed a flower and home decor shop. But this sign is outside. And let’s be honest folks, no matter where I am, if I see a large sign offering food, I’m going inside.

Welcome to Jojo’s Cafe at La Piazza Dasee.

While the picture makes the restaurant look empty, it was actually very full. In fact, we had to hang around like idiots well past the end of breakfast to get a shot of the space that wouldn’t intrude on our dining companions (I know you’re impressed with how considerate we are).

Anyway, upon arriving inside, we totally did the “we’re clearly losers who’ve never been here before” thing where you stroll up the counter, and try to look like you’re only evaluating the menu, when in reality you’re engaged in a flurry of silent mental activity trying to figure out the restaurant workflow before you embarass yourself, because you don’t understand where to order or how to acquire your food.

However, we were quickly rescued by Ray Monroe, the jovial and welcoming General Manager of Jojo’s (btw, for your own reference, when you come up to the counter, the brunch menus are directly to the left of the register). We ordered, paid and sat down.

I had the french toast. Fun fact: I will always have the french toast. A better name for this segment might be “Having French Toast with Sally Weekly.”

Everything about this meal was great. There was actual fruit, which as we have established previously isn’t always necessary, but still appreciated. Jeff had the breakfast panini and Jojo’s Red Espresso, which is espresso ground rooibos tea.

It was terrific – better than brunches I’ve had at pricey local hotels who shall remain nameless (at least until we review them), and when it was all said and done, a meal for two cost only about 25 dollars. Plus, we totally overstayed our welcome by like 40 minutes and no one ran us off. So that was nice; thanks Ray!

Also, Samsonow is asking me to emphasize how epic the bathrooms at Jojo’s are. For now that remains restroom hearsay, because I didn’t check them out, but I was extremely impressed with Jojo’s. I give a slight edge to Route 99, where we visited last week – but that’s more for sentimental reasons.

8.5 power rangers of 10.

(Seriously, you guys, this is a terrible rating system. Can we come up with something else? )
